Summary
Stuck in the Cycle of Life . . .
When asked to define my ecological identity, the first thing that anyone asks is "what exactly does that mean"? Well in short, my understanding is that it is a representation of the positive and negative impacts that you have on the environment around you and vice-versa. In general a lot of us probably feel that we have little negative impact and in the same sense even fewer positive influences unless you are some sort of naturalist and/or green-thumb type of person.
With that being said, I began to look inward to find exactly what kind of impact
I really have. While its easy to say "I always recycle" or "I own a fuel-effecient automobile" in reality how much does this actually help the environment around you. Sure every small step helps and if everyone gets on board then those little impacts can make a big difference. But lets just chart out some of those positive and negative impacts that I contribute to the environment around me.

So at the end of the day, even though a definitely make a conscious effort to reduce my footprint on this earth . . . I like many am stuck in the everyday routine of life which creates many negative impacts on the environment. Just being human and living somewhat comfortably takes its toll on the environment. However if more people practiced some of the things that I do such as recycling all the time and what-not, we as a larger group can have a much more positive impact on the environment around us.
